US President Joe Biden appeared to stumble and misspeak as he read off the teleprompter during an address to leaders from around 145 countries at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
In one gaffe, Mr Biden claimed that the United States and China should work together on “accelerating the climate crisis”.
The 80-year-old President then corrected himself, saying the two nations needed to jointly tackle “the accelerating climate crisis”.
Elsewhere, President Biden inadvertently confused the United States and the UN Charter, and claimed his administration has treated the climate crisis as an existential threat “from day one”.
The White House website posted the prepared remarks for the world leader’s UN address, exposing the extent of President Biden’s verbal slip-ups.
