Rory McIlroy, coming off a win on the PGA Tour for the FedEx Cup Championship, is looking to double down as the best golfer in the world with another championship here this week. He enters as the top ranked golfer on the tour and in the world, playing the best golf of his career. Ryan Fox, Matt Fitzpartick, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, Adrian Meronk and Jordan Smith also enter this week as Top 10 golfers in the standings all looking to contend for the championship starting today.

This season McIlroy has played in nine tournaments on the DP World Tour, finishing in the top five seven times. He has been terrific all season leading to this championship event.
McIlroy enters as the favorite to win this week and win his second championship this year. He is closely followed in the odds by Jon Rahm and Fitzpatrick.
Over the years those three have won this event two times each. McIlroy (2012, 2015), Fitzpatrick (2016, 2020) and Rahm (2017, 2019).
Last year’s winner, Collin Morikawa, is not in the field, opening up an opportunity for a new winner.
