WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, November 16, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Amazon chose All4Access, Dicapta‘s digital repository for accessibility elements, to host the audio description, captions, and Spanish subtitles for the documentary “Good Night Oppy.”
“Good Night Oppy” tells the story of a true pioneer in space exploration: the rover Opportunity. This tiny robot was sent in 2004 for a short 90-day mission and ended up surviving on the Martian surface for about 15 years. The movie follows the lifespan of this robot, which exceeded everyone’s expectations, and his human companions. Recently, it topped the winners for the 7th annual Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards. The film won five honors, including the gold Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for Best Feature.
Thanks to the All4Access inclusive technology, guests with sensory disabilities could select their preferred accessibility over their own devices and enjoy this fantastic documentary. “Good Night Oppy” was released in theaters on November 4 and will be released globally on Prime Video on November 23.
All4Access received a warm welcome from special guests with sensory disabilities such as Joe Strechay, Television and Film Producer, “All4Access app allowed me to access the audio description from my own device in the theater … The app was super easy to use. Audio description means the world to me, and that was a great treat.”
The historical Culver Theater witnessed the beginning of a new era in which inclusion will be the star.
“We are honored to be part of this initiative in which Amazon is leading the way for real inclusion. When you can go to the movies, and by using high-end technology on your device, you have the same experience as everybody else, regardless of your preferred language or abilities, then I believe in natural and genuine inclusion,” said Maria Victoria Diaz, Dicapta’s President. “Screenings like this should be a role model for the industry. This is a step forward in bringing access to media for people with sensory disabilities, including the deafblind community. I’m very proud of our team for the hard work in improving the technology over the last ten years.”
