The McGregor Panthers won two of five divisions at the LKSSAA South tennis tournament this week in Chatham.
McGregor’s Liam Cook won boys’ singles, McGregor’s Cadance Beuckelare and Zach Thompson won mixed doubles, Chatham-Kent’s Lucas Eddington and Ahmed Zafar won boys’ doubles, Ursuline’s Mary Bondy and Samantha Lozon won girls’ doubles, and Pain Court’s Kaylene Brophy won girls’ singles.
Chatham-Kent’s Sophie Botting was second in girls’ singles, followed by Ursuline’s Jocelin Hastings, Chatham-Kent’s Suhu Bhorania, Ursuline’s Lindsey Durocher and Pain Court’s Rylan Schaafsma.
Chatham Christian’s Gaspard Letang was second in boys’ singles, followed by McGregor’s Faraan Faruqi, Ursuline’s Jack Smolders, Chatham-Kent’s Jaydon Defeo-Collins and Wallaceburg’s Scott Riedl.
Ursuline’s Tom Blundy and Andrew Goulet were runners-up in boys’ doubles, followed by Pain Court’s Parker Graham and Macguire Graham, Chatham Christian’s Nolan Jack and Jonathan Gebara, Ursuline’s Josh Blundy and Luke Kettlewell, and Pain Court’s Carson May and Carter May.
Chatham-Kent’s Nele Rabehl and Hudson Denure were second in girls’ doubles, followed by Chatham-Kent’s Ava St. Germain and Jessica Lin, McGregor’s Selena Gougoulias and Ava Wiseman, and Ursuline’s Maia Dillon and Soh-Lee Jung.
Chatham-Kent’s Gage Leidl and Lindsay St. Germain were second in mixed doubles, followed by McGregor’s Ava Van Horn and Maddux Beuckelare, Ursuline’s Elliot Vince and Reese Cryderman, Pain Court’s Brady Cowell and Claire Desaulniers, and Ursuline’s Andrew Pearson and Alexis Kirakopoulis.
The LKSSAA championship will be Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Joe Carpenter and Doug Allin courts in Chatham.
